Get Ready for a New Level of Slot Entertainment8 December 2010
A peek into the future of slot play was revealed during the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas. International Game Technology (IGT) took the theme "It's a Whole New Game" and made it more than just a slogan by putting more than 270 products on display, including the premier of more than 70 new games. Here is just a sampling of what casino goers can expect to see in the coming months: Fans of Batman will be captivated by The Dark Knight theme, which is presented on a bigger-than-life 103-inch and 70-inch Center Stage platform. Players can choose to play Batman or Joker and become immersed in individual and group play bonuses while being entertained by a thematic film experience that will make them feel like they're really in Gotham City. Players who love the TV show American Idol can't miss IGT's slot version of the competition. It comes in the company's patented Multi-PLAY platform and features MegaJackpots. Participants can go for the Audition Bonus in group play, or select their lucky numbers and "Vote 4 Cash". Clips and songs from the program highlight the LCD component. The blockbuster hit movie The Hangover is recreated in the MultiPLAY format as the lead characters from the flick, Alan, Phil, Stu and Doug go center stage each with their own game, music, and Progressive Pick bonus. Clips from the movie are featured in the Stun Gun Bonus, the Deal in the Desert Bonus, and the Photo Bonus. IGT builds upon its popular Star Wars theme with Droid Hunt, which is equipped with four galactic bonus rounds, a Star Destroyer wild feature, and a MegaJackpots top award. If you liked the first generation of Sex and the City slot games, you're going to love the next installment titled Big Diamonds. The game combines IGT's MLD platform with MultiPLAY action. Each game spotlights a specific character with themed bonuses such as Samantha's Shimmer Ring Bonus and Carrie's Right to Shoes Bonus. Timeless themes have also been recreated in exciting slot games, including the new Godzilla, which brings the classic prehistoric monster to life in interactive base games, monster battles such as Godzilla vs. King Ghidorha, all supported by state-of-the-art graphics and clips from the movies. When you ask the question "Who ya gonna call?" only one movie comes to mind: Ghostbusters. IGT answered that call with a MegaJackpots themed game for low-denomination slots. The high-frequency bonuses are supported by random wilds, multipliers and much more. The film Dirty Dancing, rediscovered by a new audience in recent years, is showcased in a new theme featuring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey. It's a MegaJackpots format infused with nostalgia, famous songs and movie clips, plus a new Spin Magic component that turns minor symbol screen outcomes into wilds. Yet another new product that takes community play to new heights is Triple Towers Greyhound Racing. The game is equipped with Philips' 52-inch Intelligent Display monitor, which brings 3D graphics to life without the need for the special theater-style glasses.
