Beating Blackjack Is an Open Book for Frank Scoblete7 July 2010
You would think that after having written over 20 books about the games people play in casinos, Frank Scoblete said all he had to say. Not true. Scoblete, America's best-selling gaming author and go-to authority on the subject, figured it was time to catch up with the evolution of the gaming industry over the past decade by tackling some familiar topics with refined and updated information. One of the results is a brilliant work titled Beat Blackjack Now: The Easiest Way to Get the Edge from Chicago-based publisher Triumph Books. Now I know what you're thinking. It's just a rehash of information contained in Scoblete's previous blackjack books. After all, what more needs to be said about a game which has already been painstakingly analyzed and discussed? Leave it to the author to bring a thoroughly beaten dead horse back to life with an entertaining, concise, and information-packed 179-page work from which blackjack newbies and grizzled veterans of the game alike will mine 24-karat gold nuggets of casino-busting insight. Scoblete's theatrical background and gift for the written (and spoken) word combine to make what he has to say come to life for anybody who is captivated not only by the aura of casino life but by the desire to be the best and most informed gamblers they can be. Writing from his brain with experience and from his heart for the love of the game, he has a unique way of taking dry statistical information and making it sing with personal expression and anecdotal reference that any one who enjoys a casino gaming outing will find inspiring. In his new book, Scoblete covers the obligatory basics of blackjack for newcomers, but then he dives head-first into what it takes to really approach the game from the stand point of not only winning, but winning consistently. Covering such topics as the famed "Speed Count" and combining it with what he calls "Optimum basic Strategy", the author gives meaning and practicality to strategies that don't require the brain of a rocket scientist to understand or the money of a high roller to put to practical use at the tables. Scoblete also gives some valuable tips about playing in blackjack tournaments, throws in some information about the blackjack hybrid Spanish 21, and taps the minds of other renowned experts, including Dan Pronovost, Henry Tamburin, and Mike "The Wizard of Odds" Shackleford. Even experienced blackjack players will find Scoblete's book a valuable addition to their libraries. The author shares proven, iron-clad information and takes it out of the darkness of statistical prison and brings it into the light of literary genius. Beat Blackjack Now: The Easiest Way to Get the Edge is available for purchase online and at better book stores everywhere. This article is provided by the Frank Scoblete Network. Melissa A.
