Survey Part 8

Casino Survey Part 8 – What is Your Favorite Casino Game and Why?

Casinos have a wide range of games designed to attract nearly every type of gambler. Since there is such a variety, I thought it might be interesting to survey casino goers to find out their favorite games and why they play them.

This is the eighth article in a series of articles that explores this topic.

Responses from a recent casino sampling.

Daniel from California:

“When I first started going to casinos several years ago, I would play several different table games during each visit.

I would usually spend 30 minutes or more at each game. Blackjack, three-card poker, Caribbean Stud and roulette were the main games I played.

Over time, I started to become annoyed with the dealers prodding me at the card games. Also, other players seemed to always have something to say about my play. It is my money; I can play it any way I choose.

I also found that at times I would blow through the money I brought very quickly. Not fun times.

Nowadays, I dabble at many table games and machine-based games when I go to the casino. I say ‘dabble’ because I do not spend a lot of time at any individual game.

I am not an action player. I enjoy taking things easy. While I am not anti-social, I prefer spending my time without the need to interact much with dealers or other players.

I tried keno in the past. It satisfies my social requirements, but it becomes very boring just sitting there between games. There is only so much people watching that I can tolerate.

I now tend to spend most of my time in the sports book area. I am able to place bets at a leisurely pace. I may only place a few. The betting itself is not that important. I enjoy passing the time watching various horse races or sporting events.

This form of gambling allows me to enjoy the casino atmosphere – the gambling, having a libation or two, and relaxing without constant action. It also helps me limit my losses since I am not making that many bets.

I do get bored in a keno lounge, but I never seem to get bored in the sports book area. It is the perfect mix of casino action and experiences for me.”

What about you? What casino games do you like to play – and why?

As always, may all your wins be swift and large, and your losses be slow and small.
