Casino Survey Part One: Favorite Game17 August 2024
This is the first article in a series of articles that explores this topic. Responses from a recent casino sampling. Bob from Missouri: “There is no more exciting game in the casino than craps. There is so much to love about the game. For one thing, it is the only game in the casino where players have a say in the outcome. “It is amazing to me that casino management would even allow players to handle the dice – you know, pick up two of them handle them and throw them. What a kick! They certainly don’t allow players to do that kind of thing in roulette or blackjack. “Even if they did allow a player to deal blackjack, I am sure it would be from a shoe where the player had no chance of altering the game. By throwing the dice, the player can actually decide the outcome of each throw. The game is in the player’s control! They certainly wouldn’t allow anyone to shoot the little roulette ball to decide that game. Sure, there are rules that must be followed. Things such as only use one hand, make sure the dice hit the back wall when throwing and so forth. But as long as those few simple rules are followed; the player has control of the game. “That is only the half of it. Craps has so much action. Depending on how you bet, a player could literally collect a win on every throw of the dice. Some of those wins can be substantial. Some bets pay as much as 30-to-1 – not too shabby. Roulette also has some bets that pay more than that, but the action is so much faster at the craps table. “There are times when there are cheers and shouts from a blackjack table or a roulette table, but because only in craps can a person determine the outcome of the game, everyone betting on the shooter cheers time after time – as long as the shooter continues to throw numbers. That kind of bonding and camaraderie is not found in any other casino game. “One more thing, with proper betting and management, players can rake in a lot of money in a very short time – something I don’t find in any other game on the casino floor. To be fair, you can also lose a lot of money in a short amount of time if the craps gods are not with you. “I will take the excitement and action of craps any day over other less exciting games that the casino offers. If you see me playing in a casino, I will be at a craps table.” What about you? What casino games do you like to play – and why? As always, may all your wins be swift and large, and your losses be slow and small. Jerry “Stickman” Jerry “Stickman” is an expert in craps, blackjack and video poker and advantage slot machine play.
