This Week in Gambling: U2 opens Sphere in Las Vegas

4 October 2023

Since Sphere first said “Hello, world,” back in July, the anticipation has been building about what a show might look like inside the Las Vegas structure, which sits behind The Venetian Las Vegas. Last Friday, U2 kicked things off and showed concertgoers that Sphere is better than everyone could imagine.

The legendary rockers launched their 25-show U2: UV Achtung Baby Live At Sphere residency in the 17,000-seat arena with “Vertigo” and ran through their catalog of hits

Word on the street though, it not only did it cost a lot to build Sphere, but it will cost concert-and-show attendees a lot for drinks, including water, and parking.

Don’t worry though, not everything costs an arm and a leg, as Zoo Station opened at The Venetian Las Vegas, near the waterfall atrium entrance. It’s a 12,000-square-foot, free interactive U2 attraction that features exclusive content, photos, video and band merchandise. It’s open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. until Saturday, 16 December, which coincides with the band’s Sphere residence.
