This Week in Gambling: All aboard the bullet train to Las Vegas3 May 2023
State Congressmen from California and Nevada have asked the Federal Government for help with funding on their high-speed rail project between LA and Vegas, which will travel at speeds of nearly 200 miles per hour and get visitors to Sin City within two hours. When completed the service could take millions of cars off the freeway and keep 400,000 tons of CO2 out of the atmosphere. Rail operator Brightline West announced late last month that it has struck a deal with the High-Speed Rail Labor Coalition to begin work on the nation’s first high-speed rail project. Brightline West will be installing the tracks right down the Interstate 15 corridor. The all-electric train will connect a station east of Los Angeles to Las Vegas. If all goes according to schedule, riders could be shooting the rails as soon as 2026. Related Links
