New York hedge fund manager John Paulson and Raintree Investment Corp. have purchased about 875 acres at Lake Las Vegas for $17.3 million, a source familiar with the deal told the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The NASCAR race weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway contributed more than $240 million to the local economy, the largest economic impact in the event's 15-year history, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority reported Tuesday.
