Former MGM Resorts exec Creighton rejoins company10 October 2012
Creighton, who has more than two decades of experience in government affairs, gaming regulation and casino operations, was the first African-American to be named president of a major Strip resort. Creighton was president of the Flamingo before joining MGM Resorts and taking over a similar role with New York-New York. Creighton served as president of MGM Grand Detroit before becoming chief executive officer of Gateway Casinos, a Vancouver, British Columbia, company that manages 12 casinos in Canada. MGM Resorts has proposed building a $700 million hotel-casino in Maryland, pending approval of the state's voters.
