Ex-Alliance Gaming boss joins small slot maker

12 July 2010

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- Former Alliance Gaming chief executive Bob Miodunski has ended a six-year hiatus from the gaming industry.

American Gaming Systems (AGS), a small slot machine manufacturer that provides games to American Indian casinos, named Miodunski as its chairman and interim president and chief executive officer.

The company, which has offices in several jurisdictions including Nevada, is owned by San Francisco-based Alpine Investors, which has stated intentions to grow AGS's presence in the gaming equipment market.

"Alpine has decided to put strong financial backing behind and specific emphasis on its investment in AGS and Bob Miodunski delivers the credibility, the leadership and the motivation we need to take AGS to another level." said Graham Weaver, president of Alpine Investors.

Miodunski retired as CEO of Alliance Gaming (now Bally Technologies) in September 2004 after a five-year run.

During his tenure, Alliance's Bally Gaming and Systems business unit grew and acquired several technology components.

AGS provides video slot machines to tribal casinos in Oklahoma, California, Florida, New Mexico, Michigan, Maryland and Washington. The company is seeking regulatory approvals and gaming licenses in other jurisdictions.
