Gaming GuruCulinary, Bartenders unions say tentative deal reached with MGM Grand27 March 2015
The four-year contract, which covers porters, bellmen, guest room attendants, cocktail servers, bartenders, food servers, cooks and other hospitality positions, still needs to be ratified by employees. The deal was negotiated by committees from Culinary Workers Local 226 and Bartenders Local 165. “This contract reflects what can happen when labor and management come together to make sure workers can do the best job serving the millions of people who visit Las Vegas every year,” said Culinary Secretary-Treasurer Geoconda Arguello-Kline. A spokeswoman for MGM Resorts International, which owns the MGM Grand, said the length of the agreement brings the resort in line with contract time lines at the company’s other Strip properties, where new pacts were signed a year ago. The Culinary said the economic package in the agreement mirrors the contracts between the unions and MGM’s other Strip properties. Copyright GamingWire. All rights reserved.
