Gaming GuruBoyd announces plans to redesign California Hotel4 December 2015
The company did not reveal a price for the remodel, call it a "multi-million-dollar" renovation. The 40-year-old property was the company's first downtown casino and is part of a reinvestment Boyd Gaming has undertaken to its resorts in Las Vegas and regional markets. "We are proud to continue reinvesting in the place where our company was born," Boyd Gaming Executive Chairman Bill Boyd said in a statement. Earlier this year, Boyd Gaming opened the California Noodle House inside the property. In addition to new interiors throughout the casino and public areas, Boyd will upgrade and redesign the California's 500 hotel rooms and suites. The property will also make additional restaurant changes. Boyd Gaming is the largest multiple property owner in downtown with the California, Fremont Hotel & Casino and Main Street Station Brewery and Hotel. The company said in October its casino-hotels produced three consecutive quarters of revenue growth and five straight quarters of cash flow increases. "Each our three downtown properties generated (cash flow) gains of 20% or more," said Boyd Gaming CEO Keith Smith. Copyright GamingWire. All rights reserved.
