You are a gifted writer but a bit of a charlatan

2 November 2008

Mr. Scoblete:

First a compliment but then a condemnation. You are a gifted writer but a bit of a charlatan.

I read your article "I hate these commercials" of October 23, 2008. Yep, commercials can be irritating but what I find irritating and maddening is your audacity in condemning commercials trying to promote their product while you are conning people into believing that "controlled shooting" is possible.

While I'm not a physicist or rocket scientist, any fairly bright person (even an administrator like me) would understand that it is impossible to bounce a pair of dice off the table and onto pyramids at the end of the table with the required precision and consistency to cause them to fall back to the table in certain desired combinations.

And don't try to use the argument (which you did in one of your articles) that if you complete an approximately 95% accurate grip, release, and throw that you can hit an extra one or two (or more) desired combinations to make your system profitable.

NO ONE can make the exact center of the face of the dice hit the exact tip of the pyramids to cause the desired outcome. Just a slight deviation (I would guess it's less than 1% but of course I can't prove it except to say that the immutable laws of physics apply) in the exact center of a faces of the dice hitting the exact center of the tip of the pyramids will cause the dice to fall to the table in a random combination. I quite sure it's less than 1% but of course I can't prove it except to say that the immutable laws of physics apply.

Your controlled shooter classes remind me of the horse race handicapper who sells his selections for a price. If the selections are so good, why does he need to sell them? Why doesn't he just use them to bet on the horses he touts to make a living? Your scheme is the same principal. If it's so good why do you have to conduct classes (at a fee of course) to teach people to become controlled shooters?

Why don't you use your controlled shooter principals to earn a living? And I can't quite believe that you are just a philanthropic gambler trying to give other gamblers an edge over the casinos. You're simply a gifted writer trying to supplement your income by conning people and you should be ashamed.

Bill

Dear Bill:

Thanks for your two phrases of compliments, one at the beginning and one at the end of your letter. I work hard at my writing and it's nice to know it is appreciated.

As to the other stuff, well, you're wrong; I'm right.

First, if no one taught what they knew, no one would learn about the past or learn anything for that matter. Why would doctors teach their knowledge (for a fee) or lawyers teach their knowledge (for a fee) or teachers teach their knowledge (for a fee) or why would anyone teach anything at all?

There's a great ad in today's (10/28/08) New York Post by Donald Trump about his Donald Trump University, which teaches his techniques of how to become rich. Why is he selling his techniques for a fee? Why doesn't he just do what he is doing rather than also train students to do what he is doing - for that darn fee no less? Why do I give writing classes, at a fee, to those who wish to become writers? Shouldn't I just write and not teach anyone (for a fee)?

Now your analysis of dice control is way off the mark. Dice controllers can't accurately predict exactly what is coming up on the next throw as you suggest - that would be almost impossible. Dice controllers are merely shifting the statistics of the game to favor them on certain bets. Your idea that we bounce them perfectly off the peak of the pyramid has little to do with what a dice controller actually does.

Golden Touch does have a DVD out that has 200 throws - unedited throws (good and bad) - of the dice by four elite dice controllers. Maybe seeing with your own eyes might help you understand what the technique is all about. The DVD is available for a fee.

However, you are right about one thing. I am not gambling's philanthropist. Like many poker players who teach (for a fee), I love to teach advantage-play strategies at games such as blackjack, craps, video poker, Pai Gow poker and, yes, even on certain slot machines. (Read Jerry "Stickman's" great new book Specific Slot Machines That Give the Players the Edge!) As far as the "immutable" laws of physics are concerned those are the very laws we use in dice control to get the edge. (I put immutable in quotes because physics is usually in a state of flux.)

Now, I am giving you a free 30-day subscription to my private, members-only website at www.goldentouchcraps.com. We have over 5,000 members on this private site — many of them dice controllers who paid my Golden Touch instructors and me a fee to teach them this technique. Maybe their discussions might change your mind. However, whether your mind is changed or not, I still do appreciate those two phrases lauding my writing.

All the best in and out of the casinos!
