What is the 5-Count?10 May 2008
Hi Rookie: The 5-Count is a method developed by the Captain, the greatest craps player and theorist who ever lived, to limit the hit on your bankroll from random rollers and to increase your chances to be on rolls by controlled shooters. He called these controlled shooters "rhythmic rollers," a name copied and used by other gambling writers without attribution to the Captain. The 5-Count begins with a "point-box number," these being 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10. When the shooter on the come-out rolls one of these numbers the 1-Count is in place. Any number (except a 7-out) will count for the 2-Count through the 4-Count. However, for the 5-Count to be reached, the shooter must now roll another point number or we are stuck at the 4-Count and holding. When the 5-Count is completed your betting begins. That paragraph is a simple overview — not the whole story. You can read the entire 5-Count description in my book Golden Touch Dice Control Revolution!
