The put bet at craps23 October 2010
Dear Ro: There are two types of line bets allowed once the point is made. You can make a regular place bet on the point and be paid the house way on that (i.e., $7 for $6 on 6 and 8; $7 for $5 on the 5 and 9; $9 for $5 on the 4 and 10) or you can make a "put" bet on the line, which is paid even money. The casino will allow that place bet to be made right on the pass line. It won't go up on the number. However, it is exactly the same as if it had gone up on the number. On the "put" bet you can take the full house odds. Some of the "put" bets with full odds can be considered good bets. Recheck the book and you will see a complete chart of the house edges on the "put" bets. Most casinos will allow "put" bets but very few players know about the bet so you will not see it made that often. The place the point bet is made frequently. I am giving you a free 30-day subscription to my private members-only website at www.goldentouchcraps.com. We have over 5,000 members on this site and I think you will enjoy it. All the best in and out of the casinos! Frank This article is provided by the Frank Scoblete Network. Melissa A. Kaplan is the network's managing editor.
