I therefore surmise that you must work for the casinos. There can be no other explanation to your total misunderstanding of the game and why you don’t recommend players making some money at the game. Why don’t you want players to make money? The casinos must be paying you to give out wrong information. The inside numbers with three rolls, whether they win or not, then go off them, is the only way to win. There is no other way. The casinos want you to bet the Pass Line with big Odds because it blocks the shooter from making a controlled roll. As a matter of fact you should know this but you obviously pretend you don’t! You make more money when placing a number than betting Pass line and Odds behind your Pass Line and you don't have to worry about losing on the Come-out roll either. Sir, you have No idea how to play craps and that is the unvarnished truth. Have a Great Day. FRANK RESPONDS: That $44 inside is a bad bet. Assuming it is $10 on the five and nine and $12 on the six and eight here goes: You will lose 40 cents on the five and 40 cents on the nine; you will lose 18 cents on the six and 18 cents on the eight. This is of course over a period of time. That is called your expectation per bet. Do not think because you are making these bets at the same time that the casino has a different edge on each bet. It doesn’t. Just think of these bets as being made by four different people. Ultimately, the casino wins the money at the above rate over time. You can’t get around the math Robert. Now, make a $10 bet on the Pass line and the expectation against your bankroll is a mere 14 cents. There is no house edge on the Odds bet if you place those. So there you have it when it comes to potential losses; the Pass Line with Odds is the better bet by far. As far as taking down after three rolls you can do that but when do you go back up? Next shooter? Tomorrow? Never? In a random game the next shooter has the same house edge against him as did with the previous shooter. So you, the bettor, are facing the same problem whether you take your bets down or not. Dice controllers have no problem with Pass Line bets with Odds. As for working for the casinos, seriously? Read some of my books to see whether such an assertion could possibly be true. Anyway, all the best to you in and out of the casinos! Visit Frank’s web site at www.frankscoblete.com.
