Placing the nine25 November 2007
Dear Fan: Playing the Pass Line with odds is an excellent bet. However, placing the opposite number when your Pass Line bet is a 5 or 9; 4 or 10, is not wise as these have very high edges of 4 percent and 6.67 percent. These percentages against you are way too high and even controlled shooters, especially novice and intermediate ones, would have trouble overcoming them. However, placing the 6 or 8 in such a way is not so bad a bet since a Place bet on either of these comes in with a manageable 1.5 percent. In the Golden Touch Dice Control classes we only advocate the best bets (i.e., low house edge bets) so that your dice control skill can actually overcome the house edge. If you read about dice "controllers" advocating high house edge bets run for the hills! The optimal position for throwing at a table is usually right next to the stickman, either on his right or his left. For your letter I am giving you a free one-month subscription to Golden Touch's private, members-only web site. We have over 5,000 members and I think you will find the discussions stimulating. All the best in and out of the casinos! Frank Scoblete This article is provided by the Frank Scoblete Network. Melissa A. Kaplan is the network's managing editor.
