Odds, slots and calling off bets2 April 2013
I know you said the dice have no memory but I have to ask you when you are on a hot roll and one of your dice leaves the table, do you ask for the same dice? RO Dear RO: Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. I think following the culture of the game -- and asking for the same dice is part of that culture -- is probably correct. Believing the culture of the game is probably wrong. So whether on a hot roll or not, asking for the same dice is just following the culture of the craps world. I am sending you a copy of my book "The Virgin Kiss" since I have published your letter. All the best in and out of the casinos! Frank Scoblete Frank in Regards your "A Radical New Slot Strategy: The 20+20" My question about this strategy is when you win on the first 20 spins, do you cash out and put another $5 in the quarter machine or do you play off of the winnings for another 20 spins? I would rather cash out after every 20 spins on each progression of the money, but that messes up the $135 bankroll. I will be going to the casino in April and I'm anxious to try this. I usually put in a $20 and play the machine for 10 spins. Within that 10 spins if I double my money, I cash out and start over the count. On the $1 machine I cash out quite often and start the count over. I read all the e-mails from you and enjoy your answers. Thank you, Sharon Dear Sharon: I think you can choose how you want to play this. Please keep in mind that my strategy is not an advantage-play strategy; that means the house still has its edge on you. I think the way you play makes sense because it seems to protect your money but still give you plenty of time to enjoy yourself. Frank Scoblete Dear Frank: Is there a quick way to figure the odds on a bet? If I bet $15 and wanted to play the backup odds how do I figure that with out looking amateurish? ST Dear ST: No problem looking amateurish. Just ask the dealers what you can take in odds. Or just multiply your Pass Line or Come bets by whatever the odds state: 2X, you’d double your bet; 3X, you’d triple your bet and so forth.
