Is "normal" craps hard to find?

I recently visited a midwest casino. I walked up to the craps table, made my pass line bet, roll was 11, and to my surprise I was not paid but rather the 11 was now the point. Upon further inspection I found the layout was completely bizarre and 2, 3 and 12 were also point numbers. I left the craps tables alone that night.

After some internet research, I believe the game must have been "crapless craps." My question: Is there a comprehensive list of casinos with normal craps outside of Las Vegas, is this a state by state difference, is "normal" craps actually hard to find on the road?

Dear Daniel:

You can find regular tables throughout the country. While you can still make decent place bets at crapless craps (placing the 6 and/or 8), the actual house edge on a pass line bet is over 5 percent. So overall it is an inferior game.
