Is My Rating Correct?

Dear Frank:

I've been playing at the same Atlantic City casino the last two weekends and have done extremely well. Somehow in one day of 1-5 black-chip play, and maybe a net of $8,100, I was bumped from the lowest level card to the super-high level card. They treat me like royalty with tickets, suites, etc.

I do use a lot of cover plays so I don't think they think I am counting.

I think they made a computor error or something but I am enjoying the treatment. Any thoughts on this?

Several employees have stated to me they have never seen a higher rating of comp dollars ($5,000) than mine. I spent 1,500 comp dollars one night, played another hour and my comp was back up to 5,000!

I did lose nearly $10,000 there in one night but that was over two years ago.

Dear S.I.:

It is more than sweet - enjoy it while you can! If you are playing those eight-deck (or even six-deck) games, a one to five spread is probably not enough to give you an edge - or much of an edge. You are probably playing an even game.

But your cover plays seem to be working and the casino is obviously looking at you as a solid black-chip player -- maybe even purple-chip player if they are recording those high bets of yours. If it is a computer error pray they never discover it or you'll be back on a buffet line!
