Increasing Bets in Craps for a Hot Roll

I have just ordered 2 of your books from Amazon.com - Best Blackjack and Forever Craps.

While I anxiously await the arrival I would like to ask if there is any advantage to increasing bets in craps to hopefully take advantage of the long roll.

My plan (when I finally get to Vegas) is to establish a pass line and 2 come bets with the max odds behind them. If I have 3 one unit bets (with odds) established and one hits I was thinking of making it 2 units...and if a 2 unit bet hit to make it a 3 unit, etc.

Maybe that does not really buy me anything so I thought I would ask you.

Against random rollers at craps all bets have a house edge. The more you bet, the more the house takes. If a shooter just hit a 6, increasing your bet on the 6 does not increase your chances of hitting that 6 again. The house edge of 1.52 percent will work on the money you have up there. Unfortunately, there is no way around this. So bet small on random rollers and large on controlled shooters. That is the best advice I can give you. The second best advice is to use the 5-Count at all times when you play. These are covered in my book Forever Craps.
