How should I play a $500 bankroll at craps?8 May 2008
Dear Jim: Whether you have a little money or a lot of money, playing long shots at craps is a major mistake — these bad bets diminish your chances to win quite a bit. So avoid all of them or you are asking for economic trouble. With $500 I am going to give you a way to play which will keep the house edge extremely low and simultaneously give you the best way to win. You are going to make one bet, just one, Jim. You will put out a pass line bet for $5 or one of $10 if the table minimum is $10. Then you will place either $10 in odds on the $5 pass line bet or $10 in odds behind the $10 bet. The casino has an edge of under 1% on this bet. Your expectation is to lose 7 cents on the $5 bet and 14 cents on the $10 bet. The odds bet is a breakeven bet. With just a little luck, you might just be able to come home with some money. I would also recommend that you learn how to use the 5-Count, which will also help you to extend your time at the tables. Unless you become a Golden Touch dice controller, you will have no way to get the edge at the game. For your letter I am giving you a free 10-day subscription to my private, members only website at www.goldentouchcraps.com. We have over 5,000 members on this private board and I think you will find the conversations enlightening, interesting and fun. Enjoy! All the best in and out of the casinos!
