Help for a Dice Shooter with Sweaty Hands

Dear Frank:

I love to play craps. I practice and use controlled shooting. My problem is that my hands or palms sweat constantly and this affects my rolls. I have tried some spray deodorants, no help. Gels too sloppy, no help. Roll-ons, no help. Any insight or product that might help with this annoying problem would be appreciated.

Sweaty hands can be a big problem for a dice controller. Luckily I don't have that problem but I asked one of my top level Golden Touch Dice Control instructors, the great Bob "Mr. Finesse," to address your issue. It's not that Mr. Finesse is known for his sweating, the fact is he has a lot of great knowledge about the various ins and outs of controlled shooting.

Pretty easy solution and I had the same problem especially in the summer.

Hank, go to a bowling or billiard pro shop. They sell a rosin and powder mixture in a small cloth bag about 1 1/2 inches square and it is in a very small plastic bag. I put the cloth bag in a six inch IN zip-lock bag and keep it in my shooting hand front pocket. When I need it I just put my hand in my pocket and rub my fingers on the cloth bag, picking up some of the powder and rubbing the excess off inside my pocket.

This bag is a mini version of a pitcher's rosin bag in baseball. I don't recommend you let the casino people see this as they may think (erroneously!) that you are cheating.
