Help Buying Numbers28 April 2005
Dear Robert: Buying the 4 or 10 is a much better wager than simply placing those numbers. In Atlantic City, you must pay your buy commission on all bets. Therefore a $35 buy of the 4 or 10, costing $1, will have about a 2.78 percent house edge. That means you will lose about $2.78 cents per $100 wagered this way. The normal loss on a place bet of 4 or 10 is 6.67 percent, which means a loss of $6.67 per $100 wagered on the 4 or 10. Now, if you are paying your commission (called "vig") only on winning bets as you do in most Tunica and Vegas casinos, the house edge is about 1.3 percent on a $25 buy bet. The house only keeps $1.30 on every $100 you wager. This is a very good bet. The bottom line to remember is this. Pay the $1 on the buy and be happy that you are cutting the house edge by quite a few percentage points. I am giving you a free two-month membership in our private website, The Craps Club. Your password and user name will come in a separate email. All the best in and out of the casinos. Frank Scoblete Visit our websites: This article is provided by the Frank Scoblete Network.
