Frank Scoblete's "Beat the Craps Out of the Casinos: How to Play Craps and Win!" Selected as One of Five Best Craps Books Ever Written!18 November 1999
Howard Schwartz, marketing director of the world famous Gambler's Book Club in Las Vegas (1-800-522-1777), has selected the five "best" books on craps in his recent "Book Review" column in Gaming Today, a Las Vegas-based gaming newspaper. Among them was RGT Gaming's webpage host Frank Scoblete's Beat the Craps Out of the Casinos: How to Play Craps and Win! Stated Frank: "It's an honor to be named by Howard as having one of the five best craps books because no one has read as many gaming books or knows more about gaming literature than Howard Schwartz of the Gamblers Book Club. Over the years Howard has helped me and many other writers with research and recommendations. If you have never been to the Gamblers Book Club [630 South 11th Street] in Las Vegas, you are missing a true treat. It's a must-see attraction in Vegas." In addition to Frank's best-seller, Schwartz named Sam Grafstein's The Dice Doctor, Frank Barstow's Beat the Casino, Thomas Midgley's Craps: A Smart Shooter's Guide, and John Scarne's Scarne on Dice as the top books in the craps genre. Frank's book was published in 1991 and has been the top-selling gambling book in the nation ever since [see best-seller's list on right]. "On rare occasions," said Frank, "it has been bumped out of the first place position by my slot book [Break the One-Armed Bandits!]. I think the reason the book has legs [an book industry term for a book that sells well year after year] has to do with the fact that craps players intuitively know that the book has the first viable system for reducing risk and truly increasing your chances to win at a seemingly unbeatable game. The Captain of Craps, the man whose strategies I write about, is a true genius and his adventures have become the stuff of legend. All this has contributed to the continued popularity of the book." Frank has written several other book and tapes about the Captain and his remarkable methods, including: The Captain's Craps Revolution!, Guerrilla Gambling: How to Beat the Casinos at Their Own Games, and Sharpshooter Craps, an audio cassette.
