Frank Scoblete Presents: My philosophy of advantage play by Dr. Crapology

22 January 2011

When I think about betting systems I reflect back on my business history. I have been in the life, health and disability insurance business for almost 41 years.

When I started out I did all the "grunt work" that was required. In other words, I made phone calls, studied, held as many interviews as possible to improve my skills and all the other very difficult work that needed to be done. I did not take the easy way out. It took several years. I did not make so called "big" sales, but I was always pushing forward. After all of these years things have become "more easier" (pardon my bad English) and I have been successful. I still study and work at my business -- it is just easier now as I have all the basics down pat.

Now I remember back to 40 years ago when a few new agents who started with me made a giant sale and sat around thinking this was going to be easy waiting for people to call, driving around in a big expensive car they couldn't afford with the forerunner of a cell phone and in general playing Mr. Rich Guy. They never made the investment (in time and $$$) to become successful. Here I was driving a Datsun (now known as Nissan) that didn't have air-conditioning; I had a wife, a small daughter and one on the way. I needed to be successful.

My free-spending colleagues all flunked out. I am still in the business.

Does this remind you of learning craps or learning how to count cards? I certainly think so. I simply took my insurance mindset to the world of gambling. It's the only way I know.

Just my $0.02 worth.
