  Farewell, John Grochowski15 January 2024
John Grochowski is one of the finest of all those who have put pen to paper (and fingers to keyboards) in the casino world. He is an expert in all the games and he writes about techniques and strategies and, just as important, he is able to capture the human side of players risking their hard-earned money in attempts to overcome the house edges at the games they enjoy playing. John knows casinos, casino games, and casino players. He is a consummate writer. Many other gambling writers are just as awed as I am by his ability and range of understanding. Indeed, math and probability are at the core of the games and that duo must be tackled for the players to have proper strategies to attack those games; but, still, players are emotional creatures and we respond to the games often more with our hearts than with our heads. John understands all this and wrote accordingly when he highlighted individual casino players and gave them his on-point advice. John Grochowski was an avid participant in my “Frank Scoblete’s Gambling Jamborees” that we held in the United States and Canada during the 1990s and early 2000s. He is an excellent speaker and the hundreds who attended his talks went away satisfied with what he had to say and better players for his admonitions about how to play. About two thousand articles of his are available on this site and they are all great reads.
