Do Something Else Too30 June 2020
I think the opposite. To me a casino visit is to enjoy all aspects of the casino experience and not just the gambling aspect. If I am in a casino venue such as Las Vegas or Atlantic City, I enjoy taking walks while I enjoy property and people watching. Human beings, closely observed, are a fascinating species. I know that from two perspectives, watching them and being one of them. I once walked down Las Vegas Blvd. boasting to my wife the Beautiful AP about how observant I was because I was a writer. “I see things very few people ever see,” I bragged. She smiled and said, “So you saw that?” “What?” She smiled again (she has a beautiful smile): “The two people who just passed us. He was leading her on dog leash.” I turned and looked. Oh my lord, the guy did have the woman on a leash. She was wearing a studded dog collar and she walked behind him. He was pulling her. This was 5:30 a.m. “You didn’t see that, did you?” she laughed. “I mean you are observant.” “How much do you think one of those outfits would cost us?” I said. She hit my arm. Las Vegas has an amazing number of attractions to see and experience. Take advantage of them. Enjoying something else in Sin City will not detract from your playing experience. Make each thing you do an event. You’ll be surprised how much more fun you can have if you do so. You don’t even have to see someone wearing a dog collar to enjoy yourself. In Atlantic City, you can enjoy walks on the boardwalk, watching the ocean, the birds and the people. It’s beautiful. Don’t stay stuck in the casino all day long when you can go outside and enjoy some fresh sea air and multiple observations. If you do not attend shows; reconsider doing so. Most casinos have great shows to see, some are even free. These shows are by and large quite affordable to those of you with modest bankrolls. You can see superstars, great magicians and wonderful stage shows by the incomparable Cirque du Soleil. You can schedule your other activities around your playing sessions. Do this. I think you will find going to a casino and enjoying other things besides gambling a much better experience than simply playing endless hours. All the best in and out of the casinos!
