Dice control success story

17 June 2007

Dear Frank:

I have been hitting casinos since I was a young 21 yr. old in the Navy stationed in Puerto Rico. At the time I had no idea of what I was doing, but I was doing well enough to fly to New York to see my parents often. At the time the flight was $ 65. My dice shooting was not all that bad over the years.

About three years ago I happened to hear about GOLDEN TOUCH, and what a revelation it has been for me! I read and re-read everything in your book [Golden Touch Dice Control Revolution!] I practiced setting the all 7, the hardway, 3-V, and 2-V until it was natural for me to set them. Ever since then I have been a pretty consistent shooter and been very happy with my wins and the occasional losses. But the main thing is confidence, confidence.

I usually start out with minimum bets until I feel that I have the groove. I try and find a $5.00 table to warm up on, and even when I seven out after a few rolls after the point is made it doesn't bother me because to me it's an acceptable loss for warming up.

I've had few times where I've rolled three 2s in a row or also rolled seven 7s in a row on the come out roll. I look at it as warming up and adjusting my delivery. With your system I confidently have been having 15, 20 and 40 minute rolls!!!! My record so far is 50 minutes and betting conservatively. I'd rather have consistent smaller wins and avoid having problems with the pit bosses.

But recently I was at Harrah's in Laughlin on a 40 minute roll. I was also making few dollar hardways bets for the dealers because I was hitting the hardways a lot. All of a sudden the pit boss starts interrupting me by making small talk, but I stayed zoned into my game. Finally the pit boss came over to me and said it was taking me 15 seconds to throw the dice! Now this is a guy who before was friendly, but I figured out what was going on and I sevened out and cashed in. I didn't even mind getting the seven, it's going to happen, but better that it happens after 40 minutes and a good pay off.

But I can see that you have to be discreet and not get cocky. Here in Florida we have casino boats, so I go out on them with their five-dollar tables to keep in shape and stay happy with small consistent wins of $1,500 to $ 2,500. I've also had losses too, but not bad enough to hurt me.

Your system is fantastic for anyone who is a serious dice shooter and I hope that someday on my trips to A/C or Vegas that I have the opportunity to meet you.

Very Respectfully,
Jack

Dear Jack:

Thanks for your great letter and I am glad to know that Golden Touch controlled shooting is working out well for you. It does take a lot of practice to get proficient but you seem to have come a long way.

All casinos want their craps games to go fast because the more decisions they get the more money they win. Of course, they are not going to win money from you if you have an edge, which you seem to have, but from all the other players who are playing against a negative expectation. Once you have achieved a certain level of ability, as you have, then you must - and I mean MUST - set and release those dice in under 10 seconds. That is about the time a random roller takes to complete his throw.

Even when you release the dice in that 10 seconds, it still "looks" as if you are taking longer because of the careful setting of the dice. I did a study of this with some of our best Golden Touch dice controllers and was surprised to discover that from the passing of the dice to a Golden Toucher and to a random rollers, from start to finish, the amount of time for a decision was the exact same. The Golden Toucher just looks as if he takes longer.

Strangely enough, you have random rollers who set the dice, throw the dice against the wall right under them, shake the dice, talk to the dice, kiss the dice and wing the dice so that they fly all over the layout - these folks take much longer than any Golden Touch shooter I have ever seen.

So, Jack, work on getting that shot off faster. However, if a certain casino continues to give you trouble then head for a different one. That's what's good about today. There are so many casinos that we can avoid the crummy ones.

For your letter I am giving you a free one-month subscription to my private members-only web site at www.goldentouchcraps.com. We have over 5,000 members on this private site and I think you will find it interesting, educational, and entertaining.

You might also consider taking a course in the future and really hone those dice control skills.

All the best in and out of the casinos.
