Dice Control Statistics24 September 2004
Dear Frank, I know you are a true believer in controlling the dice. I believe if the dice hit the backboard it is impossible to control the dice to any degree. My question has two parts: 1. Do you have any statistics as to your success with controlled dice? 2. If it is possible to control the dice why aren't the casinos barring the practice? Your gambling knowledge is nonpareil and I can't understand your fixation with controlling the dice. Jerry Dear Jerry, Members of the Golden Touch Craps dice control team such as Dominator, Howard "Rock 'n Roller" Newman, Jerry "Stickman" Stich each have a minimum of 20,000 rolls that have been analyzed. They have shown in those rolls the ability to change the nature of the game to favor them. Hitting the back wall is not as big a problem as you think, since you can hit it so softly that the wall has minimum affect on the dice. What is really hard is getting the dice to hit softly enough but not miss. That's the problem and that's why it takes a lot of practice to get any good. The casinos are not going to bar the practice because how do you actually know which shooters are changing the game? More than 50 percent of the shooters set the dice and half of these try for a consistent throw. Kick all of them out and there will be no craps games in America. In addition, most controlled shooters are good for casinos because those good rolls they have just hook the other players into playing more and looking for ever more good rolls. And across the country right now, the dice income is up. Casino executive should be very leery of changing something that's bringing them in so much money. All the best in and out of the casinos!
