Coming to Vegas: Learn Dice Control from Frank Scoblete and Golden Touch Craps!

28 March 2003

Frank Scoblete's Golden Touch Craps is doing two exciting weeks of dice-control seminars, one-on-one tutorials and tune-ups in Las Vegas from April 17 through April 29, 2003. So if you are looking to get the edge at craps by learning this valuable method of play, here's what's happening:

On Saturday and Sunday, April 26 and 27 from 9AM to 5PM, Frank will be holding his formal Golden Touch Craps dice-control seminar at the dealer's school on Sahara Avenue. This seminar is unique because it is limited to 12 students and Frank and his fellow GTC staffers will be working exclusively with you at regulation craps tables. If you are interested in this course, please sign up ASAP as seating is limited. Call 1-866-SET-DICE to reserve your spot.

Also during the above two-week April period, Frank and Dominator, known as the man with the golden touch, will be conducting one-on-one and small group tutorials and tune-ups for qualified players. One-on-one and small group tutorials are for novice dice-controllers or for those with no experience in the art. These will be full-day events under the Gold-Chip and Whale Packages (please visit Frank's website www.goldentouchcraps.com for more information). Tune-ups are $100 per hour, 2 hour minimum, and will only be given to students who have taken a previous dice-control course with GTC or another recognized dice-control group.

On May 17 and 18, Golden Touch is returning to Vegas for formal seminars for all packages. These will be held at The Crowne-Plaza Hotel. In addition, Sharpshooter's Dynamic Dimensions advanced dice-control course will be given on Monday, May 19. This course is for experienced dice controllers only and is limited to 12 students.

Frank and the Golden Touch Craps dice control crew just finished a seminar at Sam's Town in Tunica, Mississippi that attracted 47 students for their Purple and Gold-Chip two-day packages and 118 people for a one-day festival. Many websites have been flooded with posts from those who attended. Here's are some examples:

From R. Raymond on THE ALLCRAPS message board:

I went to the Golden Touch craps seminar this past weekend in Tunica at Sam's Town and it was beyond my wildest expectations. I went to a PARR class several years ago but this was nothing like PARR or like the other seminars I have attended in Vegas with other so-called "experts." Golden Touch was like going to MIT or Princeton. It was intense and extremely well organized.

The class was quite large, maybe over 50 people, but there were over a dozen teachers including Frank Scoblete and Sharpshooter who both got to see and help every student during the two-day seminar.

The hall where they held the seminar was quite large, composed of four banquet rooms, with a full craps table in the middle of the back room and a dozen practice stations set up around the outside of the room. Each coach, in official Golden Touch uniforms, was stationed at one of these and after the lecture, usually one half hour or forty minutes, the students went to the tables with their instructors to work on what they had just learned. The ratio of hands on to lecture was about 70% to 30% and even more for those of us who stayed after the formal class was over to work with the teachers, who gave extra time if we wanted it.

Each of the 8 elements of controlled shooting was analyzed and demonstrated, piece-by-piece, so that at every stage you could master the element. This class was put together brilliantly. Even those who had no experience with controlled shooting showed remarkable improvement in the two days. Those of us with experience profited even more as we were shown how many mistakes we were making. My throw was improved immensely - and I always thought I was good!

It was a lot of hard work and there was very little self-puffery from the speakers. There was no bragging or long-winded time-wasting story telling. In fact, Frank Scoblete kept telling us to never overrate how good we are because that is asking for disaster. He's right. I could see that tendency in myself, to think I was better than I am. The playing and betting advice that Scoblete gave was worth the cost of the seminar by itself. The proof of how the 5-Count can find controlled shooters, it can be found on the website www.goldentouchcraps.com, and how it increases comps was proven to me in actual play. I received more in comps than I ever had before yet I played less. Dominator discussed regression betting and all the coaches reinforced the idea that you have to be extremely gifted to overcome the house edge on the proposition bets.

Many of the students who went to the casinos at night also got to see the coaches in action and to play with them. I saw Billy the Kid, Dominator, Sharpshooter, Bill Burton, Tenor and Frank Scoblete. I was really impressed with Scoblete, who I always thought of as just an author but he has the best throw I have ever seen! He's smooth and calm and his dice react as if he is controlling them with a magnet. He is that consistent and that good. He had many long rolls in succession when I watched him play at Horseshoe over a two-day period. I think I saw him seven out only once with a roll under ten decisions. Of course, everyone knows about how good Sharpshooter and Dominator are so I don't have to tell anyone on these boards. The other coaches were also terrific.

Should you take Golden Touch seminars, even if you've taken other courses in the past? Yes! Golden Touch is the best! If you've taken a course in the past, be it PARR or some other, you'll find they will pale in comparison to Golden Touch.

I did not take the Dynamic Dimensions course so I have no idea whether that course is worthwhile or not.

From Debbie Gray on DICE List Server:

I was a rank beginner when I arrived in Tunica. As Frank Scoblete lovingly put it, "She stunk!" Even though I had read and re-read a few craps books and had practiced an hour every night for about three weeks before Tunica, nothing helped me like the hands-on practice sessions with expert critiques.

Well, by the end of our second day of class, I had people on my team remarking that they wanted to bet on my rolls. Not only was I flattered but it gives you an idea of how much improvement a shooter can have with the proper teaching. Also, the night of our second class, in about a half-hour at the tables, I hit 4 come-out 7s and 6 point numbers (or something like that). I was shocked!

Also, my team and coach Howard R&R Newman were so friendly and helpful that I was able to relax and have a lot of laughs with them, and eventually my rolls improved as a result. I was initially a little intimidated and can be shy in big groups, but I felt by the end of the weekend GTC brought out the best in me all around. Imagine a shy person giving Frank "noogies".

All in all, I felt this was a professional, approachable, well-organized group of teachers that covered the issues that a shooter needs to know.

I highly recommend the two-day class--it will be a quantum leap in your skills and knowledge.

See you at the tables,
Debbie Gray

From Jim Dice on THE CRAPS PIT message board:

I attended the Tunica class given by Frank Scoblete's Golden Touch Craps group. Having attended several dice-control classes in the past I was expecting the same-old same-old but I figured I could use the practice and make some new contacts in the dice-controlling community. Well, this class made all the others I've taken look like a kindergarten class! Not only were the coaches, headed by Dominator and Sharpshooter, the best of the best, Frank Scoblete himself displayed a controlled throw that was not only perfect but as others have mentioned on other sites "a beauty to behold." This seminar is the best I have ever been to in business or gaming. If you have the least interest in gaining this skill then Golden Touch craps is the course you must take. It is, as their publicity states, the gold standard in dice control and that is no lie!
