Coinless Slots15 October 2004
Dear Leroy: The problem is that all modern casinos must show increase in profits from year to year or the executives, who are all looking to move on to other jobs, higher jobs, usually in other casinos, will lose their current jobs. So the casinos are always looking to increase the volume of play and the amount of the minimum bets people will make. Coinless slots eliminate the coin attendants and can increase volume by eliminating the "annoyance" of using coins. People will play what they are trained to play and the casinos are training them to play slots that don't make the loud coin noise. The casinos will substitute music or other special effects that don't slow the games down. Is the fun being drained by greed? The consumer will speak on this. All the best in and out of the casinos!
