Changes for the Worse at Casinos

2 December 2007

Dear Frank:

First, let me say that I look forward to your articles every single week. You touch on the games I am most interested in, and your strategies have helped me already (though I need to take a Golden Touch controlled shooters class next time I am in Vegas!)

Now, on to my point: "You are an S.O.B!!!" (har har)

I read your April Fools article and was nodding all the way through it, so much so that I almost dusted off my Harrah's rewards card and booked a flight to Vegas!

After re-reading it, I realize what an idiot I was, but it sure sounded good for a few minutes!!

You really got me, though it was a great fantasy world for a few minutes.

It really brings up how much has changed for the worse for players, and I worry that the trend will just continue, as the tables are full everywhere with people that don't know or don't care that they will be losers much quicker. I don't know what if anything will change this, but I guess that is a rant for another day!

Take care,
Dave D.

PS: I will now try to remember if I see an article next April 1, don't book a flight until I re-read it!

Dear Dave:

Yes, the games have gotten worse because the players will play just about anything. If the players would boycott the bad games such as the 6 to 5 blackjack payouts then the casinos wouldn't offer these games. If the players refused to play high house edge games such as the progressive slot machines, the casinos would be forced to offer better machines than these.

My guess is -- it is not to be.

I am glad you enjoy my articles and I am sad that the April Fools piece was not the truth. I wish it were.

But here is your reward. I am giving you a free month on my private web site at www.goldentouchcraps.com. That private site has over 5,000 members and the conversations are terrific.

All the best in and out of the casinos!
