Can I use the Speed Count with Spanish 21?

Hello Mr. Pronovost,

I took the Golden Touch Blackjack Speed Count course from Frank Scoblete several years ago. Recently, there was an article in the Blackjack Insider newsletter about Spanish 21 and card counting with less heat. My question is, can Speed Count be used on Spanish 21 and is there a specific formula or set of procedures?

Surely you, or Frank, or someone has done sims on this game.

Hello Joe:

The Speed Count method has not been studied yet with Spanish 21. But, I'm reasonably certain it would not be very effective.

Spanish 21 is marginally beatable at best with advanced card counting, and the simpler system of Speed Count does come with a price in performance. So, we have not done studies yet on it.
