Blowhard25 July 2024
Okay I didn't say this. The guy was a blowhard; an incessant talker whose train of thought explained why he was great and why the casinos didn't understand his greatness. "Now, they don't give me the comps I deserve. No sireee! The casino is stingy. I've dumped a lot of money here. I can tell you that. So where are my comps? I ask you that in pure objectivity. Where are they?" I checked out what the guy was betting. He was a $5 and $10 player. This casino had a $25 low-ball limit. They offered some $5 games in the mornings. You bet that you got comped; you didn't bet that, you didn't get comped. It was simple. Dare I tell him that? Hell, why not? It might be fun to see his reaction." "Check your players' card and see what they tell you they will comp." This was a high level casino and that would be that. At least I thought that. "Sir, said the floorman. We don't keep track of your play. You aren't betting enough to make it worth our while." "Now that is absolute nonsense. Don't you figure what I'm worth to you? Huh?" "Yes, at a certain level we do that but we are a high-end house. Why not go to a local casino and find your real worth there?" "I don't want to bet locally," he shouted. "How dare you short-change me?" "We are not short-changing you sir. Not a bit. I have to go now. Start betting $25 a hand and we'll comp you." "Son of a bitch. Son of a bitch!" Shouted the blowhard.
