Beginning to gamble again

26 May 2011

Hey Frank:

I'm a poker dealer in Mississippi. I've been there nine years now. I haven't joined your www.goldentouchcraps.com site but thinking about it.

I used to count cards pretty fair but gotten away from it for several years. I played craps for the first time five years ago when another poker dealer in our room took me with him. He has lost fortunes too and now has self excluded himself for five years. I was never that bad because I was much more conservative.

I've got your book, Casino Craps: Shoot to Win!, and find it very interesting. Just recently started gambling again after just working and going home afterwards for a few years.

I've started playing a little video poker, small stakes blackjack (polishing my counting skills a little), and small stakes craps. so I'm employing your 5-count. Made $80 after work Saturday night. It's a start! I also have a friend that's on a big run at craps right now. All he is doing is laying the 4 or 10 once it comes out, leaving the tables for at least 30 minutes after losing or winning one bet, then returning to do the same thing.

He is a pro poker player in the area for several years. He started with $200 and is up 12k for March; now betting $400 to win $200 minus the vig. I just don't have the time or patience or bankroll to bet like that, but I do have the patience for the 5-count. So I'm going to use the 5-count and his 30 minute drill in the 4 and 10 together and see how I come out and that $80 I won Saturday night included me laying the 4 or 10 twice for $20 to win $9. Won them both. I only played the 6 and 8 for $6 using the 5-count and played only an hour and a half. Not bad as I said.

I'd like your feedback. Also would love to meet you when you are in town with your classes.

Thanks.

Mike

Hi Mike:

The no-4 or no-10 system you are discussing is also called the Caesars Palace system, named after a dealer who played it almost every day --- before he went broke. Yes, you can go on long streaks with it, but in the end you will lose. Tell your friend to take his 12 grand and put it in the bank. He's beaten the game. If he stays and plays too long, all that money will go back to the casino.

Play the 5-Count and place $6 on the 6 and 8 and let that be that because this is also a losing method, but you will lose a lot less betting this way. Seriously, if you want to play with an advantage, I recommend that you consider taking a dice control course from Golden Touch. You can call Dominator at 1-866-SET-DICE to enroll.

If you are looking for a good card counting system to make it easy to get back into that game, let me recommend Speed Count that can be found in my book Beat Blackjack Now! I would also recommend only playing the advantage video poker machines -- perhaps read Bob Dancer or Jean Scott on these games.

I am giving you a free 30-day subscription to my private members-only website at www.goldentouchcraps.com. We have over 5,000 members on this private site and the conversations are interesting, enlightening and fun.

Enjoy!

All the best in and out of the casinos!
