Ask Frank: Playing the Dark Side at Craps9 April 2004
Dear Louis, The bad numbers for you on the comeout -- the 7 and 11 -- will appear eight times every 36 rolls. You are still betting a good bet with this form of play, it's just that you have to get through the hot water of the comeout before you are a decided winner on the post comeout part of the game. Laying the 4 or 10 will give the house an edge that is about three times higher than just playing the Don't Pass. However, I think your idea of going on one Don't Come bet after the Pass Line is determined is the best idea. It doesn't change the house edge but it does 3/4 of the time eliminate the shooter when he rolls a seven. You won't feel compelled to bet against him again. Also, I believe that one bet per shooter is all you should make from the darkside. All the best in and out of the casinos!
