Advice for a don't player

6 June 2010

Frank,

I've been playing craps for about a year and I just started experimenting with the don'ts, but I can't seem to gather any steam with it. I end up meandering around, a little up, a little down, but I can't get the momentum that I do with the pass line. I am a math teacher and, mathematically, the don'ts are the best bet in the casino. Why don't they seem to work?

How do you incorporate the don'ts into your strategy. Help me out!

James

Dear James:

Be happy. A little up, a little down, that isn't bad at all. You are having a short run choppy experience. It could have gone a different way — a lot down, then a little win, even more down. Just because the game is close on the don't pass doesn't mean those winning and losing swings can't be huge.

So be happy with what you have been experiencing. The right side of the craps game does feel more powerful because on a big roll you can make a lot of money. But we tend to forget that short rolls can cost players who bet multiple numbers dearly.

So my advice on the don't is really simple and not very dynamic. Bet one don't pass or one don't come and take full odds and leave it at that. Don't allow one shooter to hurt you more than once. I know that is not an exciting way to play, but to me it is the best way to play. Sorry if I couldn't juice up the don'ts.

I am giving you a free 30-day subscription to my private web site at www.goldentouchcraps.com. We have over 5,000 members on this site and I think you will find the posts to be fun and educational. Enjoy!

All the best in and out of the casinos!
