A loss of a fortune

Hi Frank,

I was in Harrahs in AC this past week. I probably will never see this again and the few that were at the roulette table will probably never see it again either. A man in his late twenties or very early thirties was playing. The dealer, pit boss and manager I guess all welcome him. As you know the max limit is $200 on the inside bets. Well, that limit was raised to $500. Out came the stacks of $100 bills.

As the dealer counted, the pit boss watched very carefully. After $4,000 was counted, the dealer asked how many $100 and $500 chips. He bet a few 500s and than the rest of 100s. When that was finished, another stack of money came out and again and again, etc. It was unbelievable.

He did hit about three times with the $100 chips but never the $500 chips.

When all was done and no more money, he had dropped $90,000. This guy showed no emotion at all like it was play money. This time the casino made a big hit. Later I asked the dealer's helper and he tells me he comes frequently. Much be nice to have the key to Fort Knox.

Ouch! I wonder if he was one of the executives at AIG blowing his bonus. Maybe he could use another bailout? Quick, call Congress!

I've seen these big rollers too. I wonder what pleasure they get just throwing their money away like that. Roulette brought down many an aristocrat in past centuries. It is interesting to watch.
