Global Gaming Expo Shifts to November16 August 2006
This year, the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) will be held from Nov. 13-16 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The G2E, organized by the American Gaming Association (AGA) and Reed Exhibitions, is the world's largest trade show for the gaming-entertainment industry. The move to November is expected to be permanent and organizers of the event are hopeful it will help the continued growth of the event. The G2E will start off on Nov. 13 with the G2E Training & Development Institute, which provides an opportunity for focused education. This year, the AGA will also be announcing its Communication Award winners at a Training & Development Institute luncheon. The trade show begins on Nov. 14, and will feature a keynote address by award-winning humor columnist Dave Barry. Another keynote event will be moderated by AGA President and CEO Frank Fahrenkopf. The discussion, entitled "State of the Industry: The Next Generation of Global Gaming," will feature some of the industry's most influential figures, and will focus on important issues facing the industry in the U.S. and around the world. Ernie Stevens, Jr., chairman of the National Indian Gaming Association (NIGA) will also moderate a panel discussion entitled "Tribal Gaming Summit: The Future of Indian Gaming". In this discussion, tribal gaming association presidents will talk about the latest gaming developments in Indian Country and the resulting economic impact. Many new features have been added to the 2006 event. The ever-popular food & beverage pavilion has been expanded and will feature daily celebrity chef demonstrations. The new "Same Suit" networking lunches will allow attendees to share best practices and exchange ideas over lunch. New "comfort stations" will be available for individuals to relax and chat with others. These stations will also feature massages, shoe-shines and handwriting analysis. G2E also presents an opportunity for gaming industry professionals from around the world to network with one another in an effort to share ideas and gain valuable information. This year, the show will end an hour early at 5 p.m. to allow guests to mingle and get to know others in the industry. The conference program, which features many new tracks, was organized by a cutting-edge group of industry leaders.
