Big Names, Big Excitement: Summer Entertainment at Michigan Casinos8 June 2005
Another summer brings a long list of top-name entertainment to several Michigan casinos. Three of Michigan's tribal casinos have had great success in bringing customers in through the use of big-name entertainment such as Jessica Simpson, Martina McBride, Alan Jackson, Reba McIntire, the Beach Boys, ZZ Top and Mickey Gilley. Each year, it seems the list of names gets bigger and better, providing Michigan residents with a wealth of entertainment options in their own backyard. Here is a quick rundown of the upcoming events at three casinos: Soaring Eagle, Mt. Pleasant June Wynonna - 9th Damon Wayans - 16th Jimmy Sturr/Boots Randolph - 28th July Reba McEntire - 1st John Mellencamp & John Fogerty - 4th Keith Urban - 8th Brad Paisley & Sarah Evans - 19th The Killers with Louis XIV - 23rd Tim McGraw with special guests The Warren Brothers - 29th August Loggins & Messina - 3rd Velvet Revolver - 11th Alan Jackson with special guests The Wrights - 18th Jessica Simpson - 25th Summer Dance Party: Paul Revere & The Raiders with Felix Caveliere's Rascals - 28th September Martina McBride - 3rd Kewadin Sault, Sault Ste. Fundamentally, casinos are entertainment facilities designed to provide their guests with a wide variety of enjoyable ways to spend their time. Whether you enjoy first-class dining, gambling, spas, golf courses, shopping, celebrity parties or big name pop and country star performances, it is clear that Michigan's casinos have given more options to Michigan residents than ever before. Summer is here and it is time to get out and enjoy all our state has to offer. The Michigan economy can use a lift, and with the struggles of the auto industry, Michigan's tourism industry needs to lead the way. With all their diverse offerings, Michigan's 17 casinos are contributing a lot to this effort, which should not go unnoticed or underappreciated in any state that wants to diversify its economy and become "cool."
