Morning Brief: iFuture?

10 September 2008

Spin3, a mobile gambling software developer with ties to Microgaming Software Systems Ltd., has released a real-money mobile casino for Apple's wildly popular iPhone.

The iPhone also grabbed I-gaming headlines in late July, when Probability announced on its full-yearly results that it had developed a real-money game for the tactile handset.

"The user experience of being able to, say, place chips on a roulette table, is quite sensuous," Charles P. Cohen, chief executive of Probability, told IGamingNews in July. "It opens up a whole new dimension that simply doesn't exist with PC."

IGN has invited mobile gambling experts to weigh in on where the iPhone will factor into the future of mobile gambling. Stay tuned.

Evolution Securities, the London brokerage, has a "buy" note out on Sportech this morning suggesting the company is soon to announce another distribution deal -- akin to those in place with Ladbrokes and 888 Holdings -- in an undisclosed Asian country. Over the last month, the company's shares have risen 17.3 percent.

Our full report on a tax bill that cleared the Dutch Senate yesterday will be available this afternoon.
