Wynn Las Vegas nightclub to close Saturday

9 September 2011

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- Holly Madison hosted Blush's fourth anniversary party Sunday. On Wednesday, Wynn Las Vegas and Las Vegas Nightlife Group announced the boutique nightclub will close Saturday.

That's the life of a club in Las Vegas. Here one day and shuttered the next, with the owners hoping to cash in on the next trend in Sin City nightlife.

A joint statement from Wynn Las Vegas and Las Vegas Nightlife Group said plans for the space will be announced in coming weeks.

The nightclub actually announced its closure to the public late Tuesday on Twitter: "All good things must come to an end. Only 5 more days to party with me. Let's go #vegas!!"

The two companies will continue their partnership in two other spots -- Surrender and Encore Beach Club.

The decision to shut down Blush, the first upscale club to open on the Strip, comes four years after it opened.

In a statement, Wynn Las Vegas said it would host a job fair Wednesday for employees laid off by the closure.

It was the second closure of an exclusive nightclub announced within a week. The Jet nightclub at The Mirage, which opened in 2005, was shuttered Tuesday. The space is scheduled to reopen as 10AK on New Year's Eve through a partnership with Las Vegas-based The Light Group and the Butter Group of New York.

"We are thrilled to be partnering with The Butter Group," said The Light Group founder Andrew Sasson in a statement. "Combining The Light Group's expertise and experience in service and management with The Butter Group's edgy New York City style and energy, 10AK Las Vegas will be a truly unique nightlife experience."

The Butter Group is known for operating trendy venues such as the Darby and Butter restaurants and the Darby Downstairs, 10AK NYC, Butter NC and 10AK lounges and clubs.

"We are thrilled to be expanding the brand into one of the most celebrated entertainment destinations in the world, Las Vegas," said Scott Sartiano, co-founder of The Butter Group.
