Station Casinos files suit over live keno results

12 August 2011

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- Station Casinos LLC has filed a lawsuit against a company that claimed to provide live keno results. The Las Vegas-based gaming company accused Jason Cox and his company, 702media.net, of trademark infringement.

A request for comment was emailed to 702media.net on Thursday. A message posted on Cox's website says it's "temporarily unavailable due to scheduled maintenance."

Attorneys for Station Casinos filed the suit Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Las Vegas. According to the 29-page complaint, the company claims Cox misappropriated its casino names, trademarks and even websites it owns.

Station Casinos said it first noticed the websites in July. The company also claims 702media.net incorporated results directly from Station Casinos websites and were "compensated on a per-click basis every time an Internet user clicks on a link" from one of their sites to a third-party website.

The websites named in the lawsuit are: boulderstationkeno.info; palacestationkeno.info; sunsetstationkeno.info; santafestationkeno.info; texasstationkeno.info; and redrockcasinokeno.info.

GoDaddy.com hosted the websites, according to the lawsuit. On Thursday all of the named websites had been taken down by the web hosting company.
