Michigan casino opens to overflow crowds14 February 2011
The $165 million project is located in Wayland, Mich., and features more than 1,400 slot and video poker machines and 28 table games. The property employs 700 people, said Lori Nelson, a spokeswoman for Station Casinos. The Gun Lake Tribe of Pottawatomi Indians owns the 76,000-square-foot casino, located between Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo, Mich. MPM Enterprises LLC, of which Station Casinos is a 50 percent partner, will manage the property for seven years, in exchange for a fee equal to 30 percent of the asino's net income. Station Casinos also has development and management deals with the Mechoopda Indian Tribe of Chico Rancheria near Chico and the North Fork Rancheria of Mono Indians for a casino near Madera. Both locations are in California. Copyright GamingWire. All rights reserved.
