Gov. Sandoval recognizes Gaming Laboratories for its investment, job creation in Las Vegas

12 December 2012

LAS VEGAS -- Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval has recognized Gaming Laboratories International, LLC (GLI) with the state's certificate of recognition for economic development. Gaming Laboratories was recognized for its investment in Nevada, a company executive said Tuesday.

Kevin Mullally, GLI's general counsel and director of government relations, said GLI has invested $7 million in infrastructure and hiring in its Las Vegas facility, adding some 93 jobs in 2012. The upgraded 86,000-square-foot facility now employs 165 workers, he said.

In June, the Nevada Gaming Control Board approved GLI as a registered independent testing laboratory. Mullally said the company has already received more than 2,000 submissions for testing in less than six months.

As of July 1, the state's Gaming Control Board Technology Division no longer performs the pre-approval of gambling devices, gaming devices, associated equipment, cashless wagering systems, mobile gaming systems and interactive gaming systems. GLI and other independent labs are now responsible for pre-approval of all these devices.
