Cantor Gaming adds Torrey Pines Pub to growing list of betting outlets19 December 2012
Once the so-called kiosk or sign-up station opens, customers will be able to open an account, fund their account and withdraw money. To place a bet, patrons must download the mobile app to a smartphone or tablet to use the account. The mobile apps will accept bets anywhere in Nevada, the company said. The accounts can also be used at Cantor Gaming's traditional brick-and-mortar race and sports books locations in Las Vegas. The company operates eight sports books, at M Resorts, Tropicana Las Vegas, Hard Rock Hotel, The Venetian, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, the Palms, the Palazzo and the Silverton. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The deal with Torrey Pines Pub follows Cantor Gaming's announcement on Monday that it will install sports wagering stations at four Becker Gaming properties in Las Vegas over the next few months. Lee Amaitis, president and CEO of Cantor Gaming, said it's an "exciting step in broadening the availability of our products to sports wagering enthusiasts in Las Vegas." Cantor Gaming, an affiliate of financial services firm Cantor Fitzgerald, has announced a number of deals with bars and casinos over the last four months. Under recent agreements, customers at the Outpost Saloon, two RoadRunner Saloons, Boulevard Bar and Grille and two Giuseppe's Bar and Grille locations can open accounts and wager. Under another deal, Cantor Gaming will operate the race and sports book at Golden Gaming LLC's Pahrump Nugget. The sports book will be the company's ninth, and first outside of Clark County. The deal, which was expected to be finalized Thursday by the Nevada Gaming Commission, is delayed after the state Gaming Control Board referred the matter back to staff on Dec. 5 for additional information.
