Lady Luck moves towards opening7 September 2007
LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- Operators of the closed Lady Luck took another, albeit small, step toward reopening the downtown hotel and casino. Owners of the troubled Third Street property consolidated their interests in the Lady Luck behind the Donner Investment Trust. On Thursday the Nevada Gaming Control Board approved the change and got a brief update on progress at the site from Andrew Donner of Downtown Resorts, the company that owns the Lady Luck building and several other adjoining business sites. The Lady Luck closed in early 2006, and at the time Donner said it would reopen within a year. Since then the opening was delayed and it wasn't until earlier this year that Downtown Resorts found a partner capable of reviving the property, CIM Group of Hollywood. "The process of finding the right partner was a long and arduous journey," Donner told the board. "We were unwilling to compromise and lower the bar." Copyright GamingWire. All rights reserved.
