Even though I’m at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino to cover the World Series of Poker’s $50,000 Poker Player’s Championship, I can’t be everywhere at once. Which is why Twitter is amazing.

Many of the players who entered the Poker Player's Championship have a significant following on Twitter, and beyond chip counts and bad beat stories, you get a good insight into the players by reading what they post.

10. $10 food voucher?
Allen Bari wasn’t impressed with the $10 food voucher he received for registering for a $50,000 buy-in event. And he knew exactly whom to contact to complain about it.

Michael Jordan’s most memorable NBA finals performance came on a night when it looked like he might collapse from flu-like symptoms. And it sounds like Phil Hellmuth might be looking to pull a similar performance out in this year’s $50,000 event.

8. First two-time winner?
David Bach won this event when it was a H.O.R.S.E. tournament in 2009. Unfortunately for him, it was the only year ESPN opted not to broadcast the final table.

7. End of the line for Kid Poker
Yeah, every player who enters this tournament wants to win. But no one is more public about it than Daniel Negreanu. Busting early on Day 2 was a disappointing result for Negreanu in the midst of a very tough stretch.

5. Paying attention to the ladies’ event
Many of the players in the Poker Player's Championship were keeping tabs on what was going on at the ladies’ event, where non-lady Jonathan Epstein made the final table. Most thought he got what he deserved.

4. The best laid plans …
Huck Seed used dinner break for something other than dinner to try to avoid the inevitable lethargy that often occurs in post-dinner break play. Unfortunately for him, it didn’t work out.
