Harrah's enters alliance with Bluff

21 March 2007

Harrah's announced its intent to form a "digital publishing alliance" with Bluff Media for all online and radio coverage of World Series of Poker events on Monday.

As part of the agreement, Bluff with operate www.worldseriesofpoker.com and provide real-time content, including chip counts, live event updates and video and audio tournament updates.

"Bluff shares our vision for bringing WSOP content to very medium that matters," said WSOP Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack in a statement. "Over the next four years, this alliance will help us connect with our players and fans in new and exciting ways, and further increase the value and relevancy of our global brand."

The alliance represents a significant shift in the market. Card Player magazine had been the official media provider for the WSOP in 2006, gaining exclusive rights to be "inside the ropes" when tournaments were under 15 tables and providing chip count updates on its Web site.

Bluff did gain the audio broadcast rights last year, including final table radio broadcasts throughout the WSOP on satellite radio.

While he is happy to play Texas Hold'em, he'd rather mix it up and play Omaha Hi/Lo, Razz, Deuce-to-Seven Triple Draw, and Badugi.
