WMS Gaming Lawsuit Against Sigma Dropped

1 June 2004

LAS VEGAS – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Sigma Game Inc., marking twenty years as a casino provider in 2004, announced today that the patent infringement lawsuit filed against it by WMS Gaming Inc, a subsidiary of WMS Industries Inc., has been dismissed.

"This dismissal completely vindicates our position that we did not infringe any valid claims of their patent," stated Jim Jackson, President and CEO of Sigma Game. "We're very happy to put this behind us and regret any disruption this action may have caused our customers."

WMS filed a lawsuit on January 13, 2004 based on a patent issued on November 11, 2003. The lawsuit had claimed that the company infringed United States Patent No. 6,645,074 entitled "Bonus Game For A Gaming Machine." All claims now have been dismissed.

"We can all agree on the benefits of strongly safeguarding intellectual property," Jackson explained. "At the same time, we would hope that our industry would reach out for more cooperation rather than less, and to collaborate more and litigate less. The real toll is paid not just by those involved in such litigation, rather it is the casino customer and the gaming public who pay the price on whether or not, new and exciting games and technology are developed and made available," concluded Jackson.

In the twenty years since its start in Las Vegas, Sigma Game Inc. has become one of the largest, privately-held manufacturers and developers of spinning reel slots, video reel slots and video poker gaming machines in the world. The company maintains its headquarters and manufacturing facilities in Las Vegas with additional U.S. offices in California, Florida, Nevada, New Jersey, Tennessee and Wisconsin. Its products are played in casinos throughout many of the world's gaming markets. For further information, visit the company's website at www.sigmagame.com.
